Who Would Have Thought There Would Be A Kelly Osbourne Post?

Kelly Osbourne looked ravishingly in Tony Ward at Sunday's Emmys and a la Claire Danes, has truly never looked better. Miss Osbourne was also on the Red Carpet as an E! correspondent and had some interesting fashion insights. I don't know if it is the cute British accent or the fact she has such a fun personality, but I found myself agreeing with most everything she said.

Armani Prive Does It Again

I don't really know why, but I have never been a Claire Danes fan. Wait... let me rephrase, I have never been a Claire Danes fan until she showed up at the Emmys on Sunday wearing a gold Armani Prive that was more perfect than perfect should be. To be honest, I thought that dress on her was far more interesting than the show itself, which for me was a big fat dud. Claire, thank you for saving the day.

A Princess Remembered

Thirteen years ago today 36 year-old Princess Diana was killed in a brutal car accident. While the details of her death have remained mainly under wraps - or the real details/facts I should say - there is one thing that cannot be debated: Princes Diana was one of the classiest, most beautiful and stylish women we have known in this day and age. Let's all take some time today to remember life's precious moments and think about a woman lost at such a young age in such awful circumstances.

Is this Inception?

Marion Cotiallrd sports bleached and barely there eyebrows in September's Vogue, on news stands now. Thoughts? Questions? Comments? Concerns? Is she supporting this trend to attempt to ingrain in our minds what we should be doing with the hair above our eye sockets? It she taking a hint from her Summer blockbuster movie and attempting to change people's opinions/behaviors/beliefs?

I mean, is this better? Or shall we all be rocking the bushy-bushy eyebrows shown in the Fall 2010 runway shows? One thing I know for sure, eyebrows are meant to make a statement this season!

All Asses Are Not Created Equal

Now before you get upset about my use of a curse word, I want you to know the above is Levi's fall slogan. Launching their new Curve ID jeans, the San Francisco based denim company has done some market research and it seems women are not totally happy with the jean selection in most retailers. In addition to figuring out the average number of jeans a woman tries on before she likes one pair - ten/one-zero/diez - they have coined the phrase ‘find jeans jeans that fit us instead of having to fit into the jeans.' With this concept they created jeans that fit shape not size.

I - for one - am on board with the new fits Levi's has come up with. I am sure this surprises no one as not only do I think men should only be allowed to wear Levi's (have you not seen Brad on The Rachel Zoe Project in his tight 501's? My oh my!) but I own 4 pairs as well. Now, to most women 4 pairs of one brand is not a lot, but seeing as I only possess 10 pairs of jeans and 5 pairs of shorts, I think this is a lot. Oh, and before you judge with how few pairs of jeans I have, please check the "dresses" section of my closets (and yes that was meant to be plural. I have a very understanding significant other).

So embrace your rears ladies, Levi's sure has!

Buhbye Baby Phat

After 14 years Kimora Lee Simmons is leaving Baby Phat. The former Mrs. Russel Simmons said on E! that is was an amicable split, however, her Twitter account did not relay the same feelings. Either way I am sure Kimora will take her fan base to some new line and create a dynasty of sorts. I had the "pleasure" of working with Kimora and her fans at a personal appearance almost two years ago, and let me tell you, it was something I never though I would see in my life. Fans dressed head to toe in Baby Phat earrings, shoes, jumpsuits and some even had tattoos! And to think, this woman was once Karl Lagerfield's muse... How the world turns...

Going the Fashion Distance

So Drew Barrymore has been making the rounds as of late for her upcoming film co-starring on-again/off-again boyfriend Justin Long. The film is called Going the Distance and is about a long distance couple - one who lives in my City by the Bay - trying to make it work. While I am all for shamelessly promoting San Francisco and all it's glory, I more than likely won't see the flick. Which is why I am so glad Drew is putting in such a great effort to look hot and stylish while on the press tour of the movie. Not only is she looking chic and sleek to the left - gray suede platform pumps may be my new obsession - she looked great at the LA premier on the arm of one Mr. Mac. You go Drew! You have come a long way from the crocheted ponchos and daises in your hair.

House of Dereon Accused of Stealing

Beyonce's brand House of Dereon was accused by Icelandic fashion house E-Label of copying a deisgn of a pair of their leggings. The queen of song and stage wears said leggings in her Fall 2010 ad campaign which is how E-Label noticed the coincidence. Clearly B, who really is a classy lass, has made no comment other than to imply her designs are hers and hers alone.

In other news, she gives her pop song Bootylicious new meaning in the ad campaign!

Grace Is Not Gone

According to WWD the much loved and famed Grace Coddington of Vogue will be penning a memoir. Said to be about not only her career at the most famous woman's fashion magazine, but also about her life as a super model in the 60's and the car accident that changed her life. Grace has class, talent and a point of view so strong I am sure this memoir will be a best seller.

Say What? Josh and Katie in J.Crew?

Now it doesn't seem fair to blog about Katie "Scientologist" Holmes twice in one week, but get over it, life isn't fair. This last statement is seriously the only thing I could conjure up when seeing Mrs. Cruise with none other than hunky-mc-hunkerson Josh Duhamel. I feel like screaming "get your hands off him!" Stop letting her touch you Tad Hamilton! She could rub off on you and you, my friend, would be much less hot if you were a Scientologist."

But as I began my tirad out loud so my office could hear, I then stopped and noticed that Katie has the opposite of a camel toe going on... With sequin pants no less... I don't know if I missed the memo, but I had no clue Suri's mom was resurrecting the Hammer Pant... J.Crew, You should know better!

Don Draper Takes A Water Break

Wow. I would love to be that water bottle. This post has nothing to do with fashion, style, fashion/style news. It is simply to marvel at the beauty that is Jon Hamm. Women rejoice!

Blue Moon... Ke$ha Is Standing Alone

So... the thing is... Yeah. No. I cannot. I simply cannot. A young woman who not only talks about brushing her pearly whites with a "bottle of jack" but also has the audacity to paint her lips the color of baby blue Zinc Oxide just doesn't resonate with me nor do I think she should be a role model for our younger generation. This look, well it is plain and simple, it SCARES me to my very core. I am actually rattled by the fact Ke-dollar sign-a walked out of the house looking like this. And to a place she knew there would be photographers? And where said photographers would service these pictures? I cannot. I simply cannot. Although, in one highlight, it makes me think of Otter Pops. Remember those? Yummmm!

Agyness Deyn Works Her Magic

I firmly believe Agyness Deyn can pull off pretty much any look in the dictionary. Buzzed hair cut a la Jake Gyllenhaal in Jarhead? Sure, why not? She rocks this military-esque cut in the September issue of V Magazine. Let's take a look back at some of A.D.'s diverse hair moments.

I mean, she makes this look good. How on earth does she make this look good? It is like she took all of the goodness Ronald McDonald had to offer to Rhianna's hair stylist and this is what they came up with.
Classic Agyness... Short, blunt, the color of Gwen Steafni's. Pretty much doesn't get much better than this for the fashion industry darling.

"Oh, hey guys! It's me again, Agyness! Just looking flawless despite the fact I have jet black hair in a bowl cut." Kind of makes me sick, but then again... I love pretty things, so I cannot help but stare.

Really?

Do you think it is even possible to walk in these things? Lady Gaga is certainly bringing the circus to fashion... I mean, these bad boys look like the shoe maker got lazy and simply didn't finish... But I think (think being the operative word) they are supposed to be high fashion. Interesting, very interesting.

I Just Can't...

Can you get into Katie Holmes as Jackie O? I mean, I guess it is not so much her as the former Mrs. Kennedy that bothers me, as it is her relationship with Tom Cruise that really gets under my skin.

I get it, she looks like her, but really? Could we not have come up with someone who isn't a Scientologist? Well, a scientologist until her marriage contract with Cruise runs up, she wins as Oscar a la Nicole Kidman, and then marries a rock star for love and not money... Yes, I do believe most things I read :)

Ummm... Wowza

Are there any other words? Here are the title's I rejected for this post:

1. Yikes, you have blood all over you

2. Anna P. your boob is all over Kate Bosworth's man

3. Scratch that, your leg is on his you know what

4. Damn, Kate Bosworth's boyfriend has nice abs

5. But why does he look like a wanna be Blue Steel?

6. Should I be watching this show?

Warning: Must find new T-Shirt Shop

I know American Apparel has it's controversies, but seriously, who can resist their T's? I certainly cannot!

Anywho, that being said I should warn you this company is dangerously close to going out of business. Only good news from this, we may be able to get said T's on the cheap, cheap!

Don't Stop Believin'

Macy's is now partnering with the hot FOX television show GLEE for an apparel line. The branded tee's and sweatshirts go from $19.99-49.99 and are now available at select stores. Be sure to get them while they're hot, something tells me the characters of GLEE will be a hot button Halloween costume this year. Sue Silverster anyone?

Oh No She Didn't!

Ummm, you guys... Betsey Johnson is turning 68 this month. 6-8. 8 years past 60 and 2 years before 70. Are you serious? This woman is still rocking and rolling! I can only hope to be half as fresh, charismatic, courageous and outgoing as B.J. is today when I hit 40! Good on her and let us say cheers to her and all her craziness!

Heel protectors: Friend of Foe?

So, we have all been there. We are standing up straight, sucking our stomachs in, throwing our shoulders back, yet we are still shrinking and sinking... Our problem? Heels in grass... Heels in mud... Heels in sand... It really is an issue.

Above I have attached a photo of a yet to be named product that will prevent this problematic yet frequent occurrence. However, is this really a problem solver? Or another problem in it's own right? Walking around looking like you have pacifiers stuck to your stilettos may be one step closer to not sinking into the ground, but it could also leave you stuck in the fashion mud so to speak.

What do you think? Friend or foe?

RACHEL Rachel Roy

I seriously cannot believe I have not blogged about RACHEL Rachel Roy. This collection - her "lower end" compilation of clothes, shoes, handbags and jewelry - hit Macy's stores exclusively last August. I had the great honor of launching the line with two personal appearances from Miss Roy herself in September 2009. I must say, she is a lovely and gorgeous woman, not to mention insanely talented. I am in love with her RRR line and think that pretty much 75% of the week you can find me in something by Rachel.

In addition to loving her clothes and personal style, I love her business practices. Her newest venture is working with model Jessica Stam at designing some new pieces for the collection. I have so far only seen a few items that Rachel and Jessica has worked on together, but I must say, they are pretty darn cute. I cannot wait for the entire collection to launch and to continue on the path of wearing R cubed all the time. Perhaps with the new J.S. pieces I will be wearing her stuff 80% of the week!

It's Back On For Alexa Chung

Alexa Chung's schedule must be insane! The 26 year old fashionista is not only back on as the face for Pepe Jeans this Fall, but she is also starring in the Lacoste fragrance campaign, acting as the muse for Mulberry's "Alexa" bag, and creating a line for Madewell... Wowza. Just looking at this makes me want to take a big old nap. Alexa has certainly put herself out there in the fashion world and I could not be happier for her as I think she is pretty stinking cute!

Eat, Pray, Legs

Wow! Julia Roberts showed up at the Eat, Pray, Love premier looking very elegant and svelte in a shorts based "pant suit." The pretty woman was all smiles as she held on to her lovely costar and Mr. Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem. This photo of the two movie stars/Academy Award winners has me even more excited to see the film. Small tid bit of information, Ryan Murphy, one of the creators of Fox's GLEE, directed this film. I have a feeling I am going to be on a cinema induced high after watching!

Fashion's Night Out

Today is a special day; why do you ask? Because we are now one month away from the 2nd Fashion's Night out. For those of you who are unaware of this amazing movement, Fashion’s
Night Out (FNO) is an unprecedented global initiative created to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the industry’s economy, and put the fun back in shopping. FNO will return to New York City and launch in cities nationwide this year on Friday, September 10, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Last year, in NYC alone, more than 800 participating stores across the five boroughs feted thousands of shoppers who supported the fashion and retail industries.

This year FNO is going to be on a global scale! Hell, right here in San Francisco we have some pretty exciting events going on to celebrate fashion and the retail industry. Here at Macy's we are working on a performance from legendary guitarist and shoe designer, Carlos Santana as well as an appearance from The Countess - I don't watch Real Housewives, but I guess she is on the show in NYC.

Hope to see you all out there supporting the cause. For more info go to http://www.fashionsnightout.com/

Pacey Takes the Cake

So.... I revoke my last blog post about Selena Gomez being the best dressed at the Teen Choice Awards. Did anyone check out Pacey Witter (aka Joshua Jackson and Diane Krueger's main squeeze)? One word (said twice): HUBBA HUBBA! I love a man in a stripped tie and checkered shirt!

Teen Choice Awards

I remember when I was little that this award show was a really big deal. I loved the performances, the slime, the movies that were being "awarded." Pretty much everything about this television extravaganza excited me. However, I will never forget the horrendous performance by one Britney Spears about 10 years ago where she had just had "enhancements" and therefore could not dance (she is always lip syncing so she couldn't sing either, but that's a whole different ball of wax). Since then, I don't think I have paid much attention to that show or Nickelodeon in general.

All of that being said I am a big fan of giving credit where credit is due and I think Selena Gomez looked darling in a white BCBG dress. That's right, she wore BCBG! She didn't run around in Jason Wu, Jenny Packham, Victoria Beckham or any other insanely expensive designer like the other tweens, instead, she picked something that was age and cost appropriate! I thank her for attempting to teach our youth you do not need to be dripping in diamonds and couture to be fashionable.

Tom's Milestone

Tom's Shoes is celebrating giving it's one millionth pair of shoes to a child in need this September. Tom's Shoes - for those of you who don't know - work with the One for One movement where any time you purchase a pair of Tom's shoes, they donate a pair to a child in need. The founder and CEO Blake Mycoskie became close with a group of kids from a village in Argentina and therefore is distributing the one millionth pair there.

My personal fave of Tom's shoes are the sparkly silver ones. I don't own them yet, but boy do I wish I did! The floral print ones above are pretty special too, but I don't know if they are too That 70's Show for me...

First Entourage and Now Lucky

It certainly is Jessica Simpson's time to shine! With an interesting article - well as interesting as the 500 word articles in Lucky can be - hitting the news stands this week, I think Jessica is finally taking a turn for the better. Ever since the famous breakup with first hubby Nick Lachey it seems J.Simps has been on a downwards spiral. Fist John Mayer, then Tony-cannot hold a snapped ball to save his life-Romo, and then there were those highwaisted jeans at the Chili Cook Off.... Tsk, tsk, tsk, Jess! However, she has a new man and a new perspective on life. And as the article states, she has finally embraced her shape... Or at least until Perez Hilton's next attack... Good for you Jess! Keep your head up, mouth closed, and stylist near by!

Emma Grows Up

Hermione Granger is evolving right before our very eyes, or at least the actress who plays her - Emma Watson - is. In a photo the British actress and Burberry model posted on her Facebook account Watson channels a Mia Farrow-esque dame. It's been a long journey since her first Harry Potter film and that long frizzy hair! Seeing as how I am going in for a cut and color tomorrow, I must say bravo to Emma for taking a risk. I certainly think it pays off, as this classy young lass can pull off pretty much anything on the red carpet, she proves here she can also wear her hair anyway she wants.

Christina Hendricks Graces British GQ

Known for her role as Joan on 'Mad Men,' Christina Hendricks' star status seems to have escalated over night with her new magazine cover. Her bodacious curves, porcelain skin and fiery red hair will be all over newstands come Thursday when GQ's September issue is released. In the article she discusses everything from 'Mad Men' fashion to her fans strangest behavior. Also, here is a toast to Hendrick for being named as a body role model for young girls by Britain's equalities minister. Enjoy, because I certainly know I will!

Namoi Watts Meets Ann Taylor

Gorgeous, talented and now the face of national retailer; what more could Naomi ask for? (other than a handsome baby daddy and two beautiful children... oh wait, she has those too!)

Naomi will hopefully bring some youthfulness to the brand as Ann Taylor has been trying to revamp their image within the last few years. In my humble opinion I must say Miss Watts might be their meal ticket. Coming in September, Watts will appear in spots in Elle, Glamour, Harper’s Bazaar, InStyle, Marie Claire, More, Vanity Fair, and Vogue. I don't know what her film lineup looks like, but her fashion magazine queue is pretty impressive.

Gaga?

The "?" in the Title of this post was not put there on accident. In fact, the question mark pretty much pops into my head any time someone mentions Lady Gaga, sings one of her very catchy songs, or when I see her in a magazine/on an online periodical of some kind. My bodily reaction to said Pop Star is to shrug my shoulders and go "eh." This certainly is not the response most people have for L.G., this I know to be true. Her entire persona is about shock & awe and being the crazy "Mad Scientist Musician" that I think she truly was born to be. That being said, a lot of things about Gaga, simply do not need to be put onto this earth. Her naked in Vanity Fair just mere weeks after being naked on Rolling Stone.... That - for me - simply didn't need to happen.

She graces the cover of the new V.F. - the September issue no less - looking a little like Twiggy meets Lindsay Lohan meets an extra in the scene from Forest Gump where they are protesting in DC. Stoner hippy or multi-millionaire or highest recording artist of the last year? From this picture alone I would say the former... But again, Gaga doesn't really ever cause me to come to a conclusion. So from this cover I can do this - I can say she has certainly coined her image as an out of this world performer and person. Other than that, I am left shaking my head and seeing "?" jumping off the computer screen.

For a sneak peak at the article click here.

For those of you who know me - which let's be honest all 6 of my followers do - I watch a lot of Special Victims Unit. Since I was getting sick and tired of DVR-ing marathons only to find that I had seen 95% of them when it came time to watch, I have started from the beginning on Netflix. This has been both the best and worst thing to happen to me this summer.

Anyway, I bring up SVU - well, let's be honest I bring it up any chance I get - but for this purpose I bring it up because Jennifer Espisito was on a very compelling episode in the first season that I had never seen. While watching I was reminded of how gorgeous she is, that she was married to Bradly Cooper, and that I had not seen her in the public eye in a while. After looking at this outfit (click to enlarge) I now know why... She STILL has not mastered the art of dressing for public events. But as I said above, she was married to Bradly Cooper (albeit for about 48 hours, but still....) and for that, I will always think of her in a positive light. If she wants my whole-hearted respect though, she won't wear a sloppy tank, caged/stacked/bootie hells and some form of koolots.

He's Briging Sexy Back to Target

Last week I wrote about Dolce Vita's line of shoes for Target, but this week I have a bigger announcement: Mr. Timberlake/Dick In A Box/Mother Lover is bringing William Rast to the massive retailer come December. I swear, once I think he has done it all and could not further his career any more... he does something even better! William Rast at Target? This is like Music to my ears! I will more than likely put the entire collection on my Christmas list! That Justin is not only a hunk, but a savvy businessman... Me likey!
